Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (2 x CD Bootleg)

I don’t think I want to listen to this track ever again after wading through all 16 (!) mixes on this 2007 release!! It must be like a remixers first ever accomplishment , like learning “House Of The Rising Sun” on guitar. There are hundreds of mixes out there already!

So we get 16 mixes, all pretty long and mostly Techno or Tech House in style.

Chemical Elements goes very Hard House. DJ Mash goes deep and dark, with a bit of an EDM vibe. Track 4 seems like a cover. Frank Omoiraghi uses most of the original song but stretches it out to over ten and half minutes.

Gataka give it a very rave feel whilst Mark White gives it a solid 4 to the floor. Steve Angello is the one I had heard before. Thumping would be a good description.

And so it goes ! I’ve no favourite. They are all quite different and either loop the vocals or use much more of the song.

Rob Searle’s 2002 Trance mixes finish off this interesting compilation. A bootleg from various sources.

Er, enjoy trawling through.

  1. It’s impossible to mess this song up, as Marilyn Mansion’s version proves! Such an amazing song. It should be remixed every few years. And rob Searle’s remixes are among the best of all time, especially his remix of FGTH’s Power Of Love and AON’s Moments Of Love!

Thank you for this excellent share!

  2. I mostly skip newer remixes, just too funky for me… but I liked a few of these (narrowed it down to just two to keep)… Unfortunately one of them was nearly 11 minutes long, but I liked it… G.M. was the other.
