Thanks Mike B for this selection. Not as obvious as previous Razormaids but just as essential with Joseph Watt and Art Maharg (RIP) sharing out the remix duties on this 1989 release.
So I had to do some major editing and re-arranging to get the middle tracks to fit the actual track listing. Hope you don’t mind Mike B as a few were joined together.
A solid start with the Sharpe and Numan track, a bit underrated as it goes for the Proto House style.
Less Propaganda-like on the Das Omen but still a great bit of Eurobeat. “Schulz!” was released as a bit of a novelty record with samples from films and proto Goa Trance.
New Beat from Front 242’s Patrick De Meyer. “Tanzen” , a light version of “Headhunter”, “the synth lead came from a Roland DX7, the other sounds came from a Matrix 6 and a Minimoog, the drums are from the TR 808.”
Die Ärzte’s “Bitte Bitte” sung entirely in German shows another style. Industrial synthpop if there is such a term.
More different styles get the Razormaid treatment, Ledernacken playful metal of “Wheelin’ and Dealin'” with the trademark vocals effects and sax solo.
Mohamed – “Ham Safar” is Acid with a Middle Eastern flavour. Obscure and wonderful.
Future Perfect was a project with Gabi Delgado and Saba Komossa , so some EBM with female vocals.
Sandra does her best Kylie impression on one her best songs. Given a bit more teeth by Maharg. Hubert Kah get the longest remix, driving beats as you would expect. The most recognisable song when the vocals eventually kick in.
More stuff from Patrick De Meyer and a bit more in the New Beat style with synth horns and jazzy vibes. Shame about the cheesy rap /vocal. The Grid were involved in the production.
I have always loved the last track and Razormaid mixing Severed Heads is a great collaboration, how to drive that bassline.

No Worries Mate, You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do👍😃
Quality Control ! Thanks for this btw!
THANK YOU both for another RAZORMAID in top-notch quality! Always appreciated!!!!!
Another PERFECT track list!
By the way, Die Ärzte were (or maybe still are) a cheesy Pop Punk band, so turning their song into an industrial synthpop gem couldn’t have been easier, further illustrating Joseph Watt’s genius remixing skills!
No Worries Always Like The Verbal Appreciation From You And Of Course Everybody Else – Enjoy😃✅👍
Thanks Mike B…. I am gonna knicker songs from Hubert Kah, Sharpe & Numan, Mysterious Art, and Sandra…. thanks for offering in 320 for us lossy fans that just want a jam for the workshop or truck radio.
AWESOME!!! THANK YOU for another Razormaid!!!!!!!
by the way, I think you mixed up Patrick De Meyer (Technotronic, Tragic Error, etc.) with Jean-Luc De Meyer (Front 242). To the best of my knowledge, they are not related despite hailing from the same place and sharing last names! And they definitely should’ve produce an album together!
