Atelier Folie – No Rhyme, No Reason (Italian 7″)

With a nod towards the Cure (“The Walk”) with a tiny bit of New Order we have this release from March 1983.

Briskly , bouncing along with plenty of drums it was a new one to me. More Italo Disco from Franco Rago and Gigi Farina

The B-side is more New Wave synth with vocals your old Slovakian mum would appreciate. Grand but repetitive, (Thanks Mr. F)

  1. I believe it would have been yer Czechoslovakian mum, given the timeframe.

No matter, still a banger to peel the turnips to.

    😁

  2. Well done on finding the video btw. Is there a more “’83 performance” video than this one? 😁

Tie clips, braces, baggy pants, ponytails, neon signs and dodgy dancing behind the Simmons.

Who loaned the accountants/used car salesmen the synths?

    Probably Craig Charles.

    😂

  3. Works for me, thanks FF, I like both sides actually, keeping these in my rarities folders. May actually like the B-side more. (I may have some old Slovakian blood in me).

  4. This is great stuff to hear, thank you. The influences you mention are spot on — I always find it so interesting to discover something from this era that is good but somehow escaped notice at the time it came out. Imagine if we had the internet back then, the way we do now.
