I have been especially glad – well, overjoyed! – to access elusive 12″ mixes, B-sides and whatnot by Sparks, Was (Not Was) and Pete Shelley. And I know I shall explore many further goodies in due course.
One disappointment I had was when I found the posts of songs by Floy Joy but then discovered that the links were dead as Zippyshare is no more.
I had Floy Joy’s ‘Into the Hot’ album on cassette back in the ’80s and I played it a LOT. It was the line-up with Carroll Thompson that I loved (I adored her, plus Don Was was producing which was a bonus). The follow-up album seemed like a different band to me.
I have failed to track down the album in anything such as mp3 form (and I have been looking online for years and years). I don’t think it was ever released on CD, which is part of the problem. But some vinyl was evidently ripped for conversion but it too slipped by me.
There are a couple of especially tantalising pages still on your site – ‘Operator’ 12″ promo + ‘Until You Come Back To Me’ / ‘Into The Hot’ – but the links are dead (as are all Zippyshare links now).
It may be that you do not have access to this music any more. But if it is still within your possession, I would LOVE-LOVE-LOVE to hear Floy Joy again!
Even if you cannot help on this particular matter, thank you again anyway for so much great music shared here.
