Puressence – Puressence E.P.(French CD)

A rare, early release from my favourite Manchester band, Puressence.

The jaw dropping moment of seeing them live for the first time at a Festival at Old Trafford’s Cricket Ground and getting a free CD whilst waiting in the queue to get in, genius bit of marketing! The voice of an angel surrounding by dense guitars and passionate choruses.

The line up was – Bass – Kevin Matthews, Drums – Anthony Szuminski, Guitar – Neil McDonald and Voice – James Mudriczki

It brings a couple of early singles, “Fire” and “I Suppose” together and added a couple of extra tracks.

“Fire” is like a primal scream, enveloped in swirling guitars. “I Suppose” delicate and powerful at the same time.

LP track , “You’re Only Trying To Twist My Arm” is quite Radiohead sounding. “Freefall” is quite majestic and appeared as a B-side of “I Suppose.” Enjoy!
