The Future Sound Of London – Far-Out Son Of Lung And The Ramblings Of A Madman (12″)

Some Leftfield Beats from FSOL and a homage to Japanese electronica and just plain weirdness. Philip Pin provides the bass twang, there is random Jazz brass and space effects. The track was used quite a lot on TV.

Brian Dougans and Garry Cobain give us a mini-LP of broken beats and loops, Future Jazz and the tracks are in the original format not edited as they appeared on the LP, “ISDN”.

“Snake Hips” samples 23 Skidoo, light jazzy grooves over hip hop beats. John Williams is even sampled on “Smokin Japanese Babe”, ambient washes and the jazz kicks in.

“Amoeba” hardens the beats with background choral effects. The whole thing is very chilled.
