From 1988 and some very smooth synthpop (with a sprinkle of guitar) from LIverpool’s Empire, sounds a bit INXS, Simple Minds (via Wet Wet Wet). Featuring the late John Uriel and singer Mark Lee Kemp. This was the first of only 3 singles.
Produced by Richard James Burgess and with Nick Launey and Mike Stent also in the studio, it failed to chart. I synth solo instead of a guitar one !
The B-side , self produced “Big City”, needs a mention. A Funky dance groove with some great sounds, fretless bass and plenty of reverb. Much better than the A side!
