Love Street ‎– Galaxy (12″)

On first hearing this it sounded just like an American funk track. Little did I know that it was a collaboration with the Fon Force guys, Dave Ball from Soft Cell, Stephen Mallinder from Cabaret Voltaire, Jake Harries from Chakk and Ruth Joy from Krush. A Sheffield electronic super group.

Released in 1988 on the major Parlophone it does sample “Galaxy” by “War” (a ’78 funk classic) given added Space effects (and cowbell); bouncy, light and funky. Reminds me a bit of the Dolby’s Cube track.

The B-side is much better, a heavier House groove. Scratches and samples.
