This has been on my Hard Drive for nearly a year. At last I can ppost this excellent swansong from The Beatmasters from ’91.
Smooth, funky soul with Elaine Vassell on lead vocals. It didn’t chart high so seemed to have been forogtten.
The Funky Ginger (Simon Law with Lee Hamblin) adds some real Disco Strings (arranged by Harvey Brough) to the mix.
The regular 12″ Mix gets you a synth trombone solo.
The Radix Mix goes back to The Beatmasters first love of Dancehall, Ska and Reggae. Lovely dubbly.
Oh wait there is a Dub too! I can’t contain myself.
“The Whisper” is a good Tribal House track, funky flute and more Vassell on vocals duetting with another unknown male vocalist.
