Roger Daltrey ‎– Take Me Home (US 12″)

Phil Harding remixes this track from 1987, giving it a Sly Fox feel to it. All synth backing, horn section, (arranged by Richard Niles – who had worked with loads of bands including FGTH, Pet Shop Boys, Was Not Was) rock vocals and a little bit of guitar. You would not think it was The Who’s legendary front man apart from THAT voice, it just isn’t his style and the video looks like he is doing a Robert Palmer. Apparently it is a cover of French song, “Cargo De Nuit” originally done by Axel Bauer.

It only got a very limited 12″ release in America and was the last track on the album “Can’t Wait To See The Movie.”

A fine dub disguises the fact that Daltrey was never involved ! (Great Horns and I think Gary Barnacle was involved!)
