A rare bit of wax from the ’82 Album “Manhattan Boogie-Woogie” which saw them try to move in a more commercial direction whilst retaining all the tech.
“It’s Not My Real Name” sounds like a cross between Classix Nouveau and Human League. The bass sound is great and the extended version (by David Carpin) benefits the song, adding a bit of cowbell and crashes whilst playing around with the great bassline and extends the shrill lyricon.
The B-side has the shrill wind synthesizers and a hidden political message. How hard hitting are those patented Simmon’s ?
