Herbie Hancock ‎– Future Shock (12″)

Two sides of Dance Today.

Kicking off with the 1983 release from the album of the same name. Hancock doing his best Prince impression, those falsetto vocals can grate. It’s a cover of the Curtis Mayfield ’73 track, Pete Cosey’s guitar nails the funk edge. Some equipment info for all us anoraks Herbie Hancock – Clavinet – Memory Moog -Michael Beinhorn – Prophet-5 – Pro 1 – Memory Moog.

“Earth Beat” is just as good, funky World sounds and a bassline from Wayne Braithwaite.

Another great bonus is the long megamix on the flip, mixing old and new stuff (not brilliantly I may add) but still drop-able now!
