A Flock Of Seagulls ‎– Transfer Affection (12″)

Their 8th single, released June 1983, it also appeared on their 2nd album ‘Listen’ . The 12″ is simply an extended version with a bit added at the start and some extended E-Bow guitar, you would be pushed to tell the difference. It was recorded by Mike Howlett at Conny Plank’s studio

As I had the 7″ I enjoyed playing the live version of “I Ran”, it is a great version.

“Quicksand” is new to my ears, a bit like old Seagulls, the goth guitar and bass by Frank Mauldsley and Paul Reynolds are outstanding, even it goes a bit “Our Friends Electric” in places. A great hidden gem.
