Thompson Twins ‎– The Gap (US Promo 12″)

Another release that got a limited release only in certain countries.

From the LP of the same name and a release from 1984 “The Gap” has all trademark Twins sounds. Does AOR mean Adult Orientated Radio Version. It certainly is shorter than the album cut.

Middle East flute and tablas give this a Blancmange flavour. (Pandit Danesh did help out on here) A great extended, definite version. Love the Prophet 5 bass from Tom Bailey.

Bridge that Cultural Gap.

  1. This song was the last gasp of the multi-cultural percussive commune who had created the first two Thompson Twins albums, as opposed to all of the others. As such, it was the one great song on the somewhat tedious “Into The Gap” album that is technically, already past my cut-off point for Thompson Twins.
