Thomas Dolby’s synth sounds are all over this Lovich track from 1982 (although it is credited to Les Chappell !, remixed by the formidable trio of Bob Clearmountain, Dick Wingate and Jane Brinton and not the same as the UK version. More commercial sounding although it does still has that weird “operatic” ending.
The “Version” is more a dub mix, with plenty of synths. You can really hear the arrangement, that drum machine! I just wish they didn’t have corny, “Cowboy Western” synth hook !

Well went into this not expecting much.. but Me Likey a lot… Nice ditty I had never heard before.. (even liked the cheesy Spaghetti Western bits). Yep, this will make it into my top rotation at home.
Wow! I never saw the UK version and only had this one, so I assumed that the two were comparable. Now my Lene Lovich collection is less than adroit! Gnash! Must source that UK edition sooner than later! As for Dolby, on the “No-Man’s Land” album from whence this came, he was only credited for synth on the cut “Rocky Road.”
