I can’t think of a more prolific duo (and I only have a handful of stuff by them!) Been around since the late 70’s and still doing stuff today.
Inventive funk from 1987 and a remake of the classic “Fire” by Ohio Players, plenty of Shaft influences with the sampled strings. Guitars by Pat Thrall and Bootsy Collins. Bass by Robbie Shakespeare. Drums by Sly Dunbar and even some flute by Henry Threadgill. FUNK in capital letters.
Bonus tracks is a synth dub version of “Ticket To Ride” from 1984 (they do like a cover) Bizarre but it works. Finally a Miles Davis track from 1985, ohh those Simmon’s Drums! Loving the crazy World sounds. Need to check out more of their stuff.
