So as requested by Mike B and from my secret hard drive the debut album from Blue Zoo. Sharing the same management team as Wham! and Japan (Simon Napier-Bell) they just didn’t make it.
Produced by Tim Friese-Green it is classic early 80’s New Wave, a variety of eclectic styles, from glum balladry to funk to minimalist punk rock. Highlights include “Love Moves In Strange Ways” with double bass by Danny Thompson. The synth funk of “I’m Your Man” is also fun and the atmospheric “Can’t Hold Me Down” and uplifting album closer “Something Familiar”
