Kate Bush ‎– The Big Sky (Meteorological Mix) (US 12″)

From 1986 and off the excellent “Hounds Of Love” album. This is quite rocky for Kate Bush with plenty of Fairlight. Youth plays bass The “Meteorological Mix” starts tribal beats, didgeridoo from Paddy Bush and a “name that cloud” interlude. Powerful stuff.

Non album track “Not This Time” has a bluesy, soulful AOR feel to it; led by piano, a quality track

  1. One of my favorite remixes of all time! I have bought it on vinyl 3x hoping to get a clean intro…alas!!

I have also tried to scour Kate Bush fan sites to find the voice actors for the cloud naming breakdown. A few sound like Pythons–Michael Palin and Terry Jones in particular–but I don’t think it’s them.

  2. Voices include her brother Paddy and Paul McCartney. Wish I knew them all. Love the meterological mix! My fave dance song of Kate. When I feel down or depressed only Kate’s music brings me “back to earth.” 🙂

  3. I woof imagine you’re getting inundated with Kate Bush requests because of the you-know-who show?? If your kind heart feels the desire to re-up this and the other singles from the Hounds Of Love album that would be doggone amazing! Thank you!
