The Fatima Mansions ‎– The Loyaliser (US Promo 12″)

An interesting collaboration between techno producer Juno Reactor and Irish indie band Fatima Mansions. It was released in 1994 and was typical of a label or band trying to broaden their listening base.  More a dance track with a few guitars thrown in giving it an industrial edge. Same track on both sides I think and it’s the instrumental version of the Juno Reactor mix that appears on the normal 12″ over here (re-upped)

Superchunk ‎– Mower (German 12″)

Some hard guitar now from North Carolina’s Superchunk. A quartet consisting of Mac McCaughan, (Vocals & Guitar) Jim Wilbur, (Guitar) Laura Ballance, (Bass) and Jon Wurster (Drums) Shouty and heavy, “Mower” has a definite grunge element to it. “On The Mouth” is fast and furious.

Fishing (Live) is really heavy, recorded liveat the University of London Union in May 1992 there’s elements of punk here, Pixies on Acid!

Kinky Machine ‎– Going Out With God E.P. (12″)

Londoners, Kinky Machine, would always be seen as also-rans, such was the glutch of Indie bands during the early 90’s.

The band was formed in West London in late 1991 by Louis Eliot (vocals, guitar) and Julian Fenton (drums), adding Johnny Bull (guitar), and Malcolm Pardon (bass guitar). After signing to the Lemon label and releasing two singles in 1992, both hits on the UK Independent Chart, they succumbed to a Major label signing (MCA) and sunk without a trace.
