Robert Palmer ‎– Pride (12″)

A popular artist on this here blog. Well let’s include the title track from his album “Pride” here with the extended version released in 1982. Early Stuff.

World Music influenced with lots of electronic precussion. This isn’t the Francois K version but this is extended version which is certainly a toe-tapper and just proves he is still a very under-rated artist.

The B-side is literally a Tribal Storm, an electro rock instrumental with Fairlight and pounding drums, something Peter Gabriel was doing on “PG 4” that same year. The only words from Palmer at the beginning saying “Get out of the way!” on this long track and weird Palmer rare B-side.

  1. thanks for the upload – a great single with a fantastic b-side! I also get the PG vibe in this very odd RP track – a bit like No More Apartheid. Any chance you could re-up the alternative Pride 12″ please?
