Animotion ‎– Room To Move (US Promo 12″)

More rock synth (so fond of my the Americans). From the film “My Stepmother Was An Alien” this was released by Animotion back in 1988 taking the New Jack Swing beat with a rocky duet between Astrid Plane and Bill Wadhams. Too many tiny sampled horns for me and Climie Fisher co-wrote it! The “Dub” goes somewhere to improve a formulaic track.

  1. I adored Animotions’ Obsession because of it’s chunky 80’s beat and chintzy lyrics. If I heard this song back in the day, I’m guessing I’ve scrubbed it from my memory so it doesn’t taint my enjoyment of AO. Is it even the same band? At least they took a stab at doing someone outlandish with AO, this is just run of the mill 80’s pulp.

Yikes! Now I’ve got that bile out of my system, I tracked down the original Climie Fisher version – a LOT better. The lack of over-production and hair spray does wonders.
