Oh the joys of a well worn Picture Disc !!!! (Raw and treated versions of the 3 tracks provided)
From 1983 and off my favourite album from them, “Land” Comsat Angels were all set up to be the next big thing. Originally a post-punk band from Sheffield, England, they were active from 1978 to 1995. Here they have their sights on America with Mike Howlett (Flock Of Seagulls) producing. Dark but melodic with the synth sounds a bit different from the typical ’83 sounds. Two quality B-sides, a “Dub” mix of album track ” A World Away” The closing track is “Shining Hour” a bit more quirky and even darker with some great keyboards from Andy Peake.

Main man behind the Eurthymics, Dave Stewart, had a bit of solo success with this instrumental track from 1989 (just!). Championing the previously unheard of Candy Dulfer (her 1990 track “Saxuality” will be making an appearance at the end of the week as we go into the 90’s !)
Technology was always in Stewart’s psyche but it’s this dueling guitar and sax track that most will remember and here he teams up with The Orb to give it that Trippy vibe. Summer Chill Out (especially the Space Lab Mix)
The B-side is more of the same, saxophone noodle over a different backing.
