Hey! Elastica – This Town (12″)

From 1984 and co-produced by Martin Rushent this was from Scottish quartet Hey! Elastica (from Edinburgh to be precise) Comprising of Bee McVicar, Giles, Samantha Swanson and Shez they made a right funky racket and got signed to Virgin and dropped when they were not a commercial success. It sounds all fun and quirky, typical indie pop for the time.

The Rushent genius can be heard on the “Twist That Town” mix with his characteristic, radical edits.
