The Beatmasters Featuring Betty Boo ‎– Hey DJ, I Can’t Dance To That Music You’re Playing (2 x 12″)

The debut from Miss Betty Boo, ( Alison Clarkson) with added vocals from Claudia Fontaine, teaming up with the legendary Beatmasters from 1989. Heavily sampling/borrowing from a Martha Reeves song this was considered Hiphouse at the time. My favourite track by them appears on the B-side, “Ska Train” still sounds awesome now, massive skanking beats and brass samples with added acid!!

As an added extra Mike has provided the Limited twelve. The main track is remixed by Streets Ahead and hopefully it’ll be new to most fans. Speeding up the “Soul 2 Soul” beat and layering more on top, adding different bass bits, added scratches and a sampled piano riff.  “Ska Train” gets remixed by Martin Rex and the Rhythm Doctor (Chris Long)…acid meltdown!
