Off – Electric Salsa (Baba Baba)

Back to more obscure stuff now with this early bit of German Eurodance that featured a very young Sven Väth (legendary trance/techno artist) Off were a trio and the letters stood for Organisation For Fun. The other 2 members (Luca Anzilotti and Michael Münzing) went on to form Snap!

Released in 1986 on ZYX Records I love that it has an equipment list on the back sleeve!!

Equipment used:
Yamaha TX 816, Super Jupiter MKS 80, Akai $ 900,
Roland TR 808, Roland TR 505
PPG. 2.3, Wave Term
Glass voice (Coca Cola bottle 0.2)
Car door (Mercedes Benz 305)
SBX 80 (SMPTE offset 10 24 32)

  1. Is there a download link for this or just a YouTube Video?

    1. Sorry Tim will sort this tonight.

  2. GREAT STUFF!!! Thank you!

If you’re new to this project, you should check out their follow-up project “16 Bit” before they moved on to become SNAP, especially songs like “Where Are You” and “Changing Minds” or their cover of In-a-gadda-da-vida … killer stuff … early EDM at its best!

let me know if you can’t find it. I’ll send it to ya

    1. I’ll keep my ears peeled 🙂 but you’ll probably need to send it!

      1. here you go … let me know if you need any of it in FLAC … this is the only album and several of their singles … “Where Are You” and “Changing Minds” or their cover of In-a-gadda-da-vida were their stand-out tracks … I hope you like it. The voice on Where Are You is actually Sven Vath.

      2. Cheers Winx, I’ll check them out!

      3. Any idea why I get a “No trespassing” message when trying the 16 bit download links? Just simply clicking them. Sometimes Filestream works for me, but mostly not. Also tried without VPN.

  3. Gotta say I love your blog. It’s like finding music in the thrift store of our minds.

    1. Always thrifty Sir!!
