Early release from Scottish quartet, The Silencers from 1987. Jangly guitar with a smidgeon of studio electronics from producer Dave Bascombe. A poignant anti-abortion song (or is it? ) a very subtle message anyway. Some nice sustained guitar on this.
The Silencers were Jimmie O’Neill (vocals and guitar) Joe Donnelly (bass) Martin Hanlin (drums) and Cha Burnz (vocals and guitar) O’Neill and Burnz were two ex-members of the post-punk outfit Fingerprintz.
An nice extended version of the bluesy stomp of “Blue Desire” (with a bit of Neil Young) is included plus the more bizarre and atmospheric, Catholicism of “Crucify Me.”
