Shakatak ‎– Dark Is The Night (12″)

Cool Brit-funk with the legendary Shakatak from 1983. There is always a bit of jazz influence in here as well as some soulful singing from Jill Saward, with Bill Sharpe on keys and George Anderson on bass. The 12″ version does tend to drift. The B-side is a little noisy and crackly, but listenable; a funkier bassline but still a laidback groove.

Thanks so much for this. It’s probably uncool to admit that I love Shakatak 12″ mixes. I’ve been collecting their rips but there’s one that eludes me – City Rhythm 12″. Any idea where I can get it? Thanks again and keep up the good work!

I’ve a few coming up but I’ll look out for that one 😉
