Peter Hope & Richard H. Kirk ‎– Surgeons / N.O. (12″)

A later collaboration (1988) between these 2 beat assassins. Sampled and clubbing beats  with some familiar Cabs sequenced bass and plenty of dub effects. These two tracks were remixed from the “Hoodoo Talk” album that the duo released the previous year. The lead track “Surgeons” mashes hip hop beats into the Cabs sound. Hope’s vocals are accompanied by a female vocals from Jocelyn Cammack (Hula) and even Kirk joins in towards the end, very soulful! Their are a couple of stripped down mixes of both tracks. “N.O.” being the most dub sounding with that freaky speeded up voice of Hope and the sampled reggae horns. Both of these could have been on the Cabaret Voltaire “Code” album.

  1. Thank you!

  2. A great one! I do respectfully submit that the N.O. side has been presented at the wrong speed. Thanks for everything gents!
