The Woodentops ‎– You Make Me Feel / Stop This Car (12″)

My favourite song at the moment, summery and quirky. From 1988 and catchy as hell, with a Lloyd Cole type vocal delivery. It was produced and written by Rolo (Richard Ian) and produced with Scott Litt (R.E.M. producer)

Backed by a totally ambient version aptly tightly the “Late Night Mix” The double A-side is “Stop The Car” which starts off like it’s on the wrong speed and builds and builds over it’s 7 and a half minutes, taking off 3 minutes in. (Got a bit of ZTT’s Frankie here!) It includes an American advert for Edam Cheese/Laughing Cow done by a Valley Girl. Love the dueling guitar and violin. A classic!
