Kill Ugly Pop ‎– Butcher The Classics Volume One – Purple Haze (Leatherface Gets Experienced) (12″)

A bit of a mouthful that title and a nice and obscure bit of vinyl from 1987. Kill Ugly Pop put a slightly industrial edge on to the Hendrix classic, especially on the “Heavy Return” version with a few Hendrix soundbites thrown in. The Band were made up of Chris and Paul Jakes, Rev. U’tang , Jules Webcore, Max Frogman and Adl “Butch” Bammer, with Bill Buchanan on keys (producer for The Leather Nun, Fields Of The Nephilim and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry)

Recorded and mixed at All Hallows Church, Gospel Oak where normally classical music is recorded. More Garage than Pub Rock but not by much, via The Cramps!
