Bananarama ‎– Nathan Jones (US Promo 12″)

Proper in the 80’s if I’m putting this up! When they were under the guidance of Scott, Aiken and Waterman and they had that third member, Jackie O’Sullivan. She appeared on the cover and video but I’m not sure she sang on the record. Siobhan Fahey decided to leave the trio to form Shakespear’s Sister with Marcella Detroit.

In 1988, the trio were named by the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful female group in pop history, beating Supremes. They celebrated by releasing a SAW-produced version of the Supremes’ “Nathan Jones”.

Pete Hammond over flanges on his “Psycho Mix”…. shame that 😦

The “Bass Tone Remix” is actually the album version I’m led to believe, it doesn’t sound like a typical album version….strange? You also get another album track, “Once In A Lifetime”, a synth ballad that reminds me of the stuff The Human League were doing at the time.!k7xmxbiY
