Ryuichi Sakamoto featuring Holly Johnson ‎– Love & Hate (Promo 12″)

Suitably extravagant and down the Pet Shop Boys route. An interesting collaboration from 1994 and a suitable single to close the 90’s. A great vocal performance from Holly Johnson and a suitably classic synth backing from Sakomoto and very poignant in today’s uncertain times. The NYC Personal Mix has Johnson speak the lines over a kettle drum beat. Marshall Jefferson provides the mixes for the A-side. The “Love Mix” is pretty similar to the “Extended Mix” but with a deeper bass and 808 drums. The “Hate Mix” is more your dance mix, deep house grooves.

  1. Thanks much for this, I’m a big fan of the parent album and look forward to exploring the mixes, particularly the Marshall Jefferson one.

  2. Nice share. I wish I could watch the video but not available in the U.S. :-/

  3. Please re-up!!
