The Rockmelons feat. Deni Hines ‎– That Word (L.O.V.E.) (Aussie 12″)

Some Pop Reggae from 1992 in a Peter Andre style. Inoffensive and light with the vocals of Deni Hines (who is a woman unlike Mr. Andre). From their album “Form 1 Planet” the Rockmelons actually formed in 1983 but had most of their hits in the 90’s and only released 3 albums.

Plenty of dub on the instrumental “Penthouse of Joy Mix” mixed by Sly and Robbie colleague Donovan Germain, reminds me of the Secret Of Monkey Island soundtrack in places! An inspiration for Bruno Mars’ hit The Lazy Song perhaps ???
