Jane Child – Don’t Wanna Fall In Love (US 12″)

New Jack Swing was all the rage in the late 80’s. Climie Fisher’s “Rise To The Occasion” most of Janet Jackson’s stuff and this from 1989/90. A fine example of the dance genre with mixes by Terry Riley. Canadian singer/songwriter/musician, Jane Child seems to be from the same school as Laurie Anderson when you listen to epic synth ballad “World Lullabye”from her debut album. Child refused to appear on Top of the Pops while the single was climbing the charts, considering the program to be a “sellout”. This main track appeared in Grand Theft Auto 5.
