Baby Ford – Beach Bump (US 12″)

The height of underground house being sniffed out by a major label and going overground. Should be referred in the same breath as A Guy Called Gerald, Peter Frank Adshead originally released this in the UK in 1989. This gathers all the remixes on the US release. It’s all rather camp. Colin Faver heads the remixes with an almost tech house take with a acid squelches. Rico Conning was engineer on the first 3 tracks. Jeremy Healy remixes “Wigan” named after the rave venue, Wigan Pier. The deeper house groove of the “New York City Mix” by Komix  (Andrew Komis) keeps all the vocals and piano riffs, he sounds like Dr Robert out of The Blow Monkeys! The “Wild Flower Mix” is the rarest and most Accciiid!! The “World Is In Love” is my favourite of the bunch, quite quirky and in same style as Electribe 101, produced by Mark McGuire (along with Mark Moore, the other half of The Mark Brothers)
