Oran ‘Juice’ Jones ‎– The Rain (Remix) (US Promo 12″)

Rare and old skool on the Def Jam label and released way back in 1986. Produced by the man himself, Vincent F. Bell and label founder Russell Simmons. This still has that great groove to it. The falsetto style of Oran E. Jones makes him one of the distinct , old skool voices. One of the ultimate break up songs?

  1. Terrific track and the dated sounds can’t disguise that.

I like to think of your posts as tracks on a great, absurd compilation, and with Corey Hart, Nina Hagen and this in a row you’ve achieved some hilarious and impressive sequencing. Love your work!

  2. Lovely flashback! I still love this track. Takes me back to when I was driving a delivery truck with AM radio. There was a local ‘urban’ station that played all the good rap & hip hop of the time. This was one track that stood out….’don’t touch that coke!’ lol! Thanks!

  3. mmmmhhhh. another good one. but offline. please re-up! Big thanks for this

    1. There you go Lena, sorry for the delay! 🙂
