Slightly late and slightly Christmassy and from 1985 this was by Canadian synthpop duo, Leslie Howe & Louise Reny. Howe worked with Alanis Morissette. With slight shades of the sound of Propaganda via Madonna and Gwen Stefani (with a sprinkle of Roxette), it was remixed by Rusty Garner with engineer Paul Sabu. So there is rock guitar and huge drums and lots of lots synths and very catchy. (and like a lot of stuff on here not on I-tunes)
