The Primitives ‎– Stop Killing Me (12″)

Last of the “Here Comes The Girls” impromptu series and this milestone of Indie Pop jangle. From 1987 and tapping into the “let’s have a bit of feedback on this” vibe that Jesus And Mary Chain started. The Primitives, all black and floppy fringed, led by the retro styled Tracey Tracey this band from Coventry emerged again in the following year with their best loved song, “Crash”.  So the shortest 12″ I own (in terms of total length – just under 7 mins in total) was self produced and written by band guitarist Paul Court, who takes lead vocals on the bonus B-side “Laughing Up My Sleeve” and is a more laidback vibe. “Buzz, Buzz, Buzz” is also here with almost rockabilly style.

Now where were the Raveonettes ?
