Richard James Burgess – Breathless (US 12″)

From 1984 and this see’s the successful producer, Richard Burgess, trying to return as a fully fledged solo artist (previously being the lead vocalist and drummer in Landscape of “Einstein A G0-Go” fame) He is listed on the Internet as a “music manager, drummer, synthesizer programmer, composer, writer and inventor.” So  here we get an electro-funk work out with considerable emphasis on the Simmons drums (but not in that annoying Eastenders sound). This was written with fellow Landscape member John L. Walters.  The Dub mix is a good ‘un, given the John Luongo treatment. I’m getting a little bit of the Landscape jazz tinges on here too.
