Nitzer Ebb ‎– Let Your Body Learn / Warsaw Ghetto (US 12″)

Imagine a wide-eyed 18 year old wanting to be a bit different, hearing the 80’s chart stuff at the local discotheque, then this came out in 1986! WTF !! Being a recently committed Mode fan this sounded so basic yet so powerful. The lyrics and the voice, the drum machine and that sequencer. Synth pop stripped bare and the birth of EDM. Dark, mechanical beats with a touch of , dare I say,  Fascism….pretty sinister.

This double A-side was marketed for the US, the extended mix of “Let Your Body Learn” is new to my ears (still can’t get over the fact that future PWL stalwart, Phil Harding, produced it) At least Gareth Jones and Daniel Miller give us an instrumental take on the same track.
