Evelyn Thomas ‎– High Energy (12″)

Keeping on the theme of Hi- NRG this is the classic anthem that started it all off. Released in 1984 and produced by the duo of Fiachra Trench and Ian Levine. It’s pristine glam disco, it’s probably more disco sounding than the more uptempo Hi- NRG that came later,  B.P.M. to the point you can march to it. The B-side has the rarely played instrumental dub and maybe of interest to my anorak followers.

  1. Taking it’s starting point as one of the many clones of FGTH ‘Relax’ which first snuck out in late ’83 before becoming a hit in early ’84. I loved this record for that reason, and as you said, tempos then started to rise.
