The Beat – Too Nice To Talk To / Best Friend (US 12″)

From 1980 and an early release from The Beat (It will never be The English Beat as they were called in America on this blog!) and the riffing and dubbing of “Too Nice To Talk To” using the studio skills of Bob Sargeant. Not sure this is the Dubweiser mix it certainly sounds that it should be, it’s almost makes your ears seasick and the bass thumps you in the chest! A two-tone classic backed by a track I was unfamiliar with, “Best Friend” is slightly more indie sounding, plenty of guitar jangle. Thank God I found this song, superb!
