Strange Cruise – Rebel Blue Rocker (12″)

Where the late Steve Strange does rock and roll!!

Strange Cruise comprised of the Barnacle brothers (Steve and Pete) Frankie Hepburn, (who was in Endgames) Pete Murray, Wendy Cruise (a.k.a. Wendy Wu) and Steve Strange.

Written with old Visage bass player, Steve Barnacle and produced by Mike Hedges this was released in 1986. A totally different musical direction which brings in female backing vocals and a brass section; Visage fans shook their heads in disbelief. The vocals are delivered in almost a punk style.

It is pretty bad, not even the extended “Rebel Mix” can save it although it is a slight improvement with some nice added effects. B-side was an album track and is again quite dire.
