Ziggy Marley And The Melody Makers ‎– Tumblin’ Down (US 12″ Promo)

So we had Julian Lennon have a go at matching his father’s success and here we have Bob Marley’s son (complete with siblings) having a go ! From 1988 and unlike Lennon they keep to the reggae formula with production by Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club members, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. Ex- Wailers’ keyboard player, Tyrone Downie co-wrote it. So we get a bit of a mix between hip-hop and reggae which see’s Frantz and Weymouth sample their own records ( Genius of Love) and really use the studio as a set of decks. Again it’s fear of the modern world, anti-war and Cold War fears. Nice Dub btw 🙂
