Was (Not Was) ‎– Robot Girl (Remix) (12″)

Keeping it 80’s mainstream (most of the week to be honest) this little gem from 1986 from the quirky but groundbreaking Was (Not Was) from Michigan. Here they give their take on electro with this completely funky but synthetic “Robot Girl” it features Desi Campbell (Floy Joy) on vocal duties and was the first release from ‘What Up Dog?’ The maddest of the mixes is the long “East Grinstead Mix” sampling and distorting, wonderful stuff. B-side is the mad spoken word story of “Earth To Doris” and the so-good-it-must-be-a-cover of “Where Did Your Heart Go” (Spandau Ballet would be jealous!)
