Gary Numan – My World Storm (US Ltd 12″)

Most people forgot about Numan in the 90’s, the wilderness decade. This was off the album “Outland” and featured a decent remix of “Are Friends Electric?” by Mute Records band, Renegade Soundwave, in the B-side. The remix is credited to Rockers Uptown who give it a layered hip-hop style over some tongue-in-cheek lyrics about his current feelings about the music industry, not half bad. “Are Friends Electric?” keeps the synths in the forefront along with some layered beats

  1. oh bums – another down link – saw friends electric and thought – cool – I have not heard this version before ….

  2. This is a great version of AFE – bass/drum heavy but still uses the original.

My World Storm remix is excellent too – at a time when Numan was so unpopular surprising both tracks remixed by anyone! – but glad that they did!

  3. Great post thanks – at a time when Numan was so unpopular surprised anyone bothered!

AFE mix is bass/drum heavy but uses original really well, and My World Storm mix is also very good – nice drop in of Cars as well!

  4. Can you re post this one? Thanks
