Tony Banks / Fish ‎– Shortcut To Somewhere (12″)

Yes it did happen!! Fish (from Genesis sounding Marillion) actually worked with Genesis keyboard whiz, Tony Banks.

From 1986 and featuring music from the film, “Quicksilver.” This sort of tries to work but doesn’t, a taste of ‘what could’ve been’ if Fish had had a chance singing in the Genesis. Far too poppy for fans of both bands, it was produced by Richard James Burgess.

B-sides include a track from the film that was also on the Tony Banks, “Soundtracks” – “Smilin’ Jack Casey” keeping the epic Genesis sound, complete with keyboard solo at the end. On “K2” there are Lennon-esque vocals in a slow psychedelic rocker, nostalgic for the early 70’s.
