Level 42 – Children Say (12″)

Oops nearly missed my weekly Level 42 update for all the air-bass players out there.

“Children Say” was from their classic period, 1987. Both remixes by Paul Staveley O’Duffy. So the main track has some extra samples and overdubs with that lovely, floating guitar riff.

“Starchild” sung by Mike Lindup gets a freshened up remix. The original was released in 1981 an was off their very first album. Funky with disco syndrums, shame it fades out too soon.

It also contains one of those 80’s megamix where they seem to throw the album into a musical kitchen blender and press the button to see what comes out. So we get snippets from the albums, “Running In The Family” and “World Machine” done by Paul Dakeyne from D.M.C . (UK) (How the hell he ended on It’s Over I’d never know!)
