Bill Nelson – Living In My Limousine (12″)

A frantic couple of postings coming up – (All from Mike so I don’t have to rip just add a few words.)

One of my favourite artist and released in 1981 the 12″ contains some tracks from late 70’s Nelson’s Red Noise group. “White Sounds” should have been the lead track, buoyant New Wave (it does sound a little dated for 1981 mainly because it was actually recorded in 1979) Sax provided by Ian Nelson which kicks in nicely at the end. “Birds Of Tin” is a really a taster of the sounds that would come on the album “Love That Whirls” from 1982, an instrumental with backwards synth and a sharp drum machine beat. “Love In The Abstract” was from the same period as Limousine, backwards loops but some edgy vocals, LCD Soundsystem were taking notes.

“Limousine” is here remixed from the album “Quit Dreaming and Get On The Beam” more stripped down with an metronome, electronic beat over the top, thanks to producer John Leckie.
