She first came to my attention as a backing singer for Thomas Dolby, originally from Germany she went on to work with Jellybean on the hit, “Just A Mirage.” This was off her only solo album , “Little Lives,” and I’d like to think Dolby contributed on the synths for the more upbeat, B-side track, “Big Sister” The title track itself deals with issues in South Africa (how very 80’s) co-written with Ian Prince. A powerful synth ballad it typifies the sounds around the late 80’s , (it was released in 1988) So “Big Sister” bounces around and there is a cover of the Brenda Holloway 60’s classic, done in the loungecore style.
